On Friday, the 25th of November 2011, IABSE (International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering) invited professors and students from the Civil engineering Department of SNU to visit the construction site of Mokpo Bridge. After attending a technical presentation, the audience watched a EBS documentary about Mokpo Bridge. The visit then continued with the opportunity to go onto the nearly completed cable stayed bridge. It was impressive to walk under these huge pylons with cables hanging in the air.  Mokpo Bridge is not only a feat of engineering but also an aesthetic work of art inspired by the grace of a flying cane.
